Lucy explains…. I set up Aidan's Christmas Dinner Project in memory of our son Aidan Pond, who passed away at the Royal Alex Children's Hospital aged just 19 months in 2014.
Every year I endeavour to fundraise £3,500 to provide Christmas Dinner and Parent Hampers to families spending Christmas in Hospital. Every Christmas Eve, we visit the Alex and hand out hampers of luxury food –including handmade mince pies, brownies, tea and coffee, and a cafetiere. We also let them know that, should their child still be in hospital over Christmas, we have an amazing team of volunteers who last Christmas prepared a festive buffet in the Ronald McDonald House at the Alex on Christmas Day. All the food for this is funded by Aidan’s Christmas Dinners.
